What are your thoughts on Murakami's Airplane? I really didn't understood much of it.

What I like about Airplane is that it emphasizes the delicacy and intricacy of human emotion at any given situation. This story highlights the idea that nothing is black and white when it comes to grasping our own true feelings as well as making sense of how others feel. The narrator struggles to make sense of what’s going on, debating whether or not he loved this woman, and was loved back. Being oblivious to his own talking infers (to me) that he’s voicing his subconscious level, where in his own mind he’s distant and naive, while consciously he wanted to be closer to her and understand her. I sense that the woman knew about his conflict, which is why she revealed to him my favourite quote in all of Murakami’s writings, “I sometimes think that people’s hearts are like deep wells. Nobody knows what’s at the bottom. All you can do is imagine by what comes floating to the surface every once in a while.”

Sorry that this was a bit long, but this is what I took from it, and why I enjoyed it so much. :)
